ACLogics vs. Bluon, MeasureQuick, XOi, and the Rest: An Honest Comparison

The big HVAC apps aren't interchangeable. Bluon is a parts and manuals platform, MeasureQuick reads your probes, XOi documents the job, and ACLogics walks a tech through the diagnosis. Here's how to think about which one you actually need.
Techs and owners keep asking us some version of the same question: “How are you different from Bluon?” Or MeasureQuick, or the Carrier app, or whatever tool their supply house rep mentioned last week.
It’s a fair question, and the honest answer is more useful than a sales pitch: most of these apps aren’t actually competing to do the same job. They answer different first questions. Pick based on which question your techs get stuck on.
The one-line map
Bluon answers “what exactly is this unit, and what part does it take?” It’s a massive equipment database — manuals, wiring diagrams, bills of materials, part cross-references — with an AI called MasterMechanic and a live support line on top. It plugs into ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, and BuildOps. The tech app is free; Bluon for Business is quote-based.
Carrier Service Technician answers “what does this Carrier fault code mean?” It’s free, it has guided troubleshooting and a beta AI assistant, and if you’re a Carrier-heavy dealer your techs should have it. Its limit is built in: it exists to support Carrier-family equipment, and your Tuesday is full of everything else.
MeasureQuick answers “what do my probe readings say about this system?” It connects to 80+ Bluetooth instruments across 17+ brands and scores charge, airflow, and combustion in real time. Free tier for live diagnostics, $49 per user per month for the Premier tier with AI Assist and cloud reporting. For commissioning discipline, nothing else comes close.
Fieldpiece Job Link answers “what are my Fieldpiece probes reading right now?” Free app, live measurements, automatic superheat and subcool. It’s an instrument display for one hardware ecosystem, not a diagnostician.
XOi answers “how do I prove and document what happened on this job?” Photo and video capture, dataplate recognition, AI work summaries — built mostly for commercial contractors, priced by sales call.
Interplay Learning answers “how do we train techs before we put them on a truck?” Simulations and VR courses. Good for structured onboarding; it happens in a classroom, not on a live call.
ACLogics answers the question that eats service departments alive: “I’m standing at a dead system — what should I test next?”
Why that question is the one we picked
We came out of a working DFW service company. Our pain wasn’t finding part numbers, and it wasn’t a shortage of measurement tools on the truck. It was that the judgment lived in two or three senior heads, and the tech standing at the unit didn’t have it.
A parts database doesn’t fix that. A probe app doesn’t either — it shows you numbers, but it doesn’t tell you which numbers to go get, or what to conclude when they disagree.
So ACLogics starts from the symptom, the way a lead tech on the radio would. It proposes candidate causes, tells you what to check first and why, takes your actual readings, and moves each candidate through confirmed or ruled out until the root cause holds up. - Cached jobs, notes, and guided steps work offline. Basements and rural attics don’t hand out signal bars.

Where the others genuinely beat us
We’d rather you hear it from us. If your daily pain is parts lookup and OEM manuals, Bluon is deeper there than we are — that’s their core business. If you need probe-integrated commissioning reports, MeasureQuick is the standard. If you’re a commercial shop that needs video documentation wired into ServiceTitan, XOi was built for exactly that.
None of that conflicts with ACLogics, which is why plenty of shops could run one of those tools next to ours: something to find the part, something to verify the fix, and ACLogics to get from “it’s broken” to “here’s the confirmed root cause” — especially in the hands of a first- or second-year tech.
