Use Calculators, Nameplate Scan, warranty links, and manuals

ACLogics equips technicians with a suite of integrated field tools to simplify calculations, expedite equipment documentation, and access manufacturer resources directly at the job site. This guide covers how to use our scanning, calculator, and lookup tools effectively.

1. Nameplate Scan and OCR Technology

The Nameplate Scan tool uses Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to extract technical data from physical equipment labels. You can access it in two ways:

• From Quick Tools: Navigate to Tools and select Nameplate Scan to capture a standalone scan. After saving, you can link the result to a recent diagnosis.
• From a diagnosis (recommended): Open any active diagnosis and scroll to the Equipment nameplate section. Tap 📷 Scan new to capture and attach the nameplate in one step, or 📁 Use previous to select a nameplate you have already scanned.

After capturing a photo, the app displays all extracted text as tap targets. Tap each line and assign it to Brand, Model Number, Serial Number, or MFG Date. Lines highlighted in yellow contain keywords the app has recognized as likely field identifiers.

[!TIP] Improving OCR Accuracy: Ensure the label is free of heavy shadows and direct glare. Hold the camera parallel to the sticker and verify it is well-lit. You can manually type or override any field at any time if the label is damaged or faded.

2. Quick Field Tools

Our digital calculators and converters are designed to provide rapid verification estimates in the field:

• Duct Airflow Calculator: Computes estimated duct run capacities and compares them against target equipment requirements.
• Unit Converter: Translates common HVAC measurements (such as pressures, temperatures, and volumes) between standard and metric units.

[!WARNING] Always check your unit selections (e.g., PSI vs. Bar, CFM vs. L/s) before applying converter results to your service notes or final customer reports.

3. Warranty Lookups and Technical Manuals

ACLogics provides direct links to the official warranty lookup and technical manual search pages of various equipment brands:

• Direct Brand Links: Access the official warranty search or document repository directly by selecting the corresponding equipment brand.
• Browser Integration: Links open in our secure in-app browser. If a manufacturer’s external portal fails to load, tap Open in Browser from the top menu to open the link in your device’s default web browser (such as Safari).

[!NOTE] Warranty Lookups and Manual Downloads require an active internet connection to load external manufacturer pages. OCR text extraction runs on-device and does not require internet, but saving a nameplate to your account does.
